I picked up the book The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider at my local library in the New Fiction section. I was extremely pleased. I was initially drawn to the book because the cover is bright yellow and it's pretty hard to pick up a book that's practically glowing... After reading the back of the book, it sounded like it would be an easy and fun read. It turned out to be a really thought provoking and emotional book that conveyed a high school boy who is living a double life--the one he is "supposed" to live and the one he actually enjoys. He is the homecoming king super jock of his school until a car accident shatters his leg, and with that his life as he knew it. There's struggles with friends, love, characters' past and present, and even a little love for your pet.
I would really recommend this book to anyone who enjoys general fiction... It was a feel good read that made you think, which is a knockout of a book to me.
