The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman is a novel about love, loss, and family. In this book, a former Australian solider decides to take a secluded job manning a light house on an island where he and his wife are the only inhabitants. The couple wants nothing more than to have children, however every time they get pregnant, there is a miscarriage. Then a miracle happens; a boat lost at sea washes ashore with a dead man and a baby--alive! While the husband wishes to report this, the wife convinces him not to and they bury the man and keep the baby as their own. Back on shore, a young wife and mother is frantic over the loss of her husband and baby, lost in a storm, but without any confirmation that they are alive or dead. When the two lives intertwine, the trouble starts....
