Allegiant was an overall good book; it continued to follow the story of Tris as she struggled with the downfall of her society. Unlike the first two books, this one alternated between the voice and point of view of Tris and of Tobis (Four). This gave an interesting perspective of events and allowed the reader to go between the two main characters and gain a better sense of each of them. It also allowed the reader to see what was happening from (at times) two very different places. There were parts of the book that Tris would not have been able to tell the reader, and therefore Tobias's voice was necessary here since he was the one actually involved in certain parts, not Tris. It also gave a better perspective on their relationship; seeing it from Tobias's point of view gave an extra view into how they felt about each other, making their connection stronger to readers.
HOWEVER, I am so upset over the ending. It was great until Chapter 51-52 and then I just wasn't all that interested anymore unfortunately. The last couple chapters I mostly read quickly or thoroughly skimmed (but skimming none-the-less). I just couldn't handle it....
**SEMI-SPOILER**
I mean, I'm happy that their society gets saved and the mission they set out to do gets accomplished BUT COME ON!!! ARE YOU KIDDING?! After EVERYTHING else that happened...
If anyone else has read this book---what did you think? Do you agree with the ending? Would you have liked to see it end differently?
